The
Virtues of Napping : Strengthen Your Immune System
Many
people in Latin American and Mediterranean countries couldn't do without their
afternoon siesta, typically a three- hour break during which workers may go home
to eat, sleep and relax. But in some Western countries, where people are very
work-driven, pausing to refresh yourself has decidedly negative connotations.
Adults are expected to work all day - and not take time off to nap.
Why its natural to nap?
The reason is simple: we all have a built-in physiological
desire for a nap in the afternoon. How do we know this?
When researchers asked volunteers to spend time in an
underground room with no clocks or clues as to day or
night and told them to sleep whenever they wanted, the
subjects slept in two cycles: a longer session at night
and a shorter period a nap during the day.

Fat
burning diet : By the Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital
This 7-day eating plan can be used as often as you like.
If correctly followed it will clear your system of impurities and give you a feeling
of well being as never before. After only 7 days of this process, you will begin
to feel lighter by at least 10 and possibly 17lbs. You will have an abundance
of energy. This diet is fast and fat burning, and it will flush your system
of impurities, and gives you a feeling of well being. NO drinking alcohol on his
diet! Because everyone's digestive system is different for several days
you may find that your bowel movements have changed.. Eat a cup of bran or fibre. The
fat-burning soup can be eaten anytime that you feel hungry. Eat as much as you
wish. Remember, the more you eat, the more you will lose. You can eat broiled
or baked chicken instead of beef (absolutely no skin on the chicken!).
ANY PRESCRIBED MEDICATION WILL NOT HURT YOU ON THIS
DIET

Four
Numbers to Track Every Day : Live a healthier life
So you've decided to do your heart a favour
and live a healthier life. The fact is that old habits die
hard, and the route is packed with unhealthy temptations.
It is so easy to order a large portion of chips, watch a
late-night film instead of going to bed at 10pm, or buy
that huge bacon, lettuce and tomato baguette and eat the
whole thing.
So what is the best way to find out whether you've adopted
enough new, healthy habits to make a difference? That's
easy - just use this simple, daily tracking system.
This is how it works: every evening, take a few moments
to ask yourself four questions about your day. Your answers
will make it perfectly clear whether you are staying true
to the path towards improved health, or if your good intentions
are not being matched with much-needed good actions.

The therapy of Massage : Treat your body!
Although
a single massage will be enjoyable, the effects of massage are cumulative and
a course of massage treatments will bring the most benefits. Regular massage
can have the effect of strengthening and toning the entire body mechanism, and
so help to prevent unnecessary strains and injuries that might otherwise occur
due to excess tension and any resulting structural weaknesses.
Massage can stimulate or calm the nervous system-depending
upon what is required by the individual-and thus help reduce
fatigue, leaving the receiver with a feeling of replenished
energy. At its best, massage has the potential to restore
the individual physically, mentally and spiritually.?

How to live 10 Years longer: : Men's health
special!
What
if someone told you that if you added six specific foods to your daily diet, you
could tack two years on to your life? Or that if you eliminated a certain habit
you'd live four years longer? It'd be like those charts in your retirement plan
statement showing that if you put away $100 a week starting at age 21 you'll be
worth $10 million at 65. You'd almost have to be an idiot not to do it.
Right?
What follows are nine strategies recently shown to have
the greatest impact on a man's life span. Eighty per cent
of longevity is now thought to be a function of behaviour
(as opposed to your genes), meaning that, taken together,
these plans can result in a significant net gain in the amount
of time you get to hang around this earth doing fun stuff.
To be exact, 10 years, according to risk analyst Anna Hart,
who consulted her actuarial tables to assign the numbers on
our list. That's 10 years to go diving on a coral reef. Or
climb one of the world's great mountains. Or - who knows -
take a trip to Mars.

Winter Casserole : Delicious
and healthy!
Slow-Braised Beef and Barley. Juniper berries give this dish
a distinctive flavour. The beef is slowly simmered until meltingly tender, while
nourishing barley soaks up some of the juices and thickens the rich gravy to make
a hearty casserole. Serve with mashed potatoes and green vegetables.
